Evacuation warning in Highland, Line Fire continues to grow

The Line Fire in Highland has grown to 1,200 acres and is still 0% contained, according to the San Bernardino County Fire Department.

The fire started on Tuesday afternoon, August 2, 2023, near the community of Highland, California. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Mandatory evacuations have been ordered for the following areas:

  • The area north of Highland Avenue, between Mill Street and Tippecanoe Avenue
  • The area east of Tippecanoe Avenue, between Highland Avenue and Victoria Avenue
  • The area south of Victoria Avenue, between Tippecanoe Avenue and Del Rosa Avenue

An evacuation warning has been issued for the following areas:

  • The area north of Highland Avenue, between Tippecanoe Avenue and Del Rosa Avenue
  • The area east of Del Rosa Avenue, between Highland Avenue and Victoria Avenue
  • The area south of Victoria Avenue, between Del Rosa Avenue and Sterling Avenue

Residents in the affected areas are urged to evacuate immediately. The San Bernardino County Fire Department is urging residents to stay out of the area and to avoid driving in the area.

The fire is burning in heavy brush and timber, and is being fueled by high winds. The fire is expected to continue to grow in size and intensity.

The San Bernardino County Fire Department is asking for the public's help in preventing further spread of the fire. Residents are urged to report any suspicious activity to the authorities.
