The Current State of Fortnite on iOS
Apple has blocked the ability to update or install Fortnite on iOS devices. Players who have Fortnite currently installed on their device can still play version 13.40.
Epic Games is currently suing Apple over the removal of Fortnite from the App Store. The trial is set to begin on May 3, 2021.
How to Play Fortnite on iOS
There are currently two ways to play Fortnite on iOS:
- Through Nvidia's GeForce Now streaming game service: This service allows you to play Fortnite on iOS and Android devices without having to download the game.
- Using a mobile controller: Most MFi controllers are supported, including the Gamevice and Steelseries Nimbus.
The Future of Fortnite on iOS
It is unclear when or if Fortnite will return to the App Store. Apple has said that it will not allow Fortnite to return to the App Store until Epic Games agrees to follow the App Store guidelines.
Epic Games has said that it is committed to fighting for the right to distribute Fortnite on iOS devices outside of the App Store.
