Chaos and Delays as Country Battles Severe Downpour

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) grapples with the aftermath of torrential rainfall, the heaviest in 75 years, that has wreaked havoc across the country. According to a statement reported by the WAM news agency, the deluge has caused significant disruption and damage.

Dubai Submerged, Flights Halted

Dubai, the emirate known for its towering skyscrapers and bustling urban center, has been severely impacted by the floods. The city's streets transformed into rivers, submerging vehicles and leaving residents stranded. Chaos ensued at Dubai International Airport, where scores of flights were delayed or canceled, leaving travelers stranded.

Oman Mourns Loss, Rescuers Find Body

In neighboring Oman, the incessant rainfall has also taken a tragic toll. Rescuers discovered the body of a young girl in Saham, bringing the country's death toll to 19 since Sunday. The relentless downpour has forced thousands to evacuate their homes and seek shelter in higher ground.

Dubai Airport and City Struggle

Dubai's airport, one of the busiest in the world, faced significant disruption as a result of the floods. More than 270 flights to and from Dubai were affected, resulting in delays and cancellations. The city's infrastructure, including roads, bridges, and transportation networks, also suffered damage.

UAE Battles to Recover

Emirati authorities are working tirelessly to pump water out of affected areas, clear debris, and restore critical services. While the rainfall has subsided, the cleanup and recovery efforts are ongoing. The UAE government has deployed resources and personnel to assist residents and minimize the impact of the floods.
